Who’s the Guy Behind the Drums?

Hi my name’s Boza and I hope you enjoy reading this website.  I’ve always loved drumming and want to learn more about it – different styles of playing, correct technique and all the latest equipment that is now available.

This website will be a place where I can document information about drumming, as they may be of interest to other people.

My Background

I got into drumming when I was about 14, when a group of school friends decided to form a band.  I saved up the money from my paper round and was soon the proud owner of a secondhand Pearl Maxwin, in black.

Those early gigs were great fun but I do remember getting ‘canned’ off stage once.  One of those chickenwire screens like in the ‘Blues Brothers’ film would have been useful on that occasion.

Into my twenties and thirties I played in various bands still lugging my trusty Pearl Maxwin around.  By now it had to have bits of hardware replaced that had given up due to wear and tear.

The Rewards

I’ve played at various weddings and even been paid to play, which is quite nice when you are really just indulging in your hobby.

The biggest reward though was meeting my, now, wife at one of our gigs.  That was certainly a night not to be forgotten.

The Future

I’m planning on ‘going back to basics’ and really learning the drums properly.  When I was younger I did learn a few rudiments but didn’t have the dedication to do it properly.  I’m now ready to start learning the instrument properly.
